Heya, folks who have inexplicably left me on their RSS feeds! Been a while, hasn’t it?
You know what’s good? When you enjoy keeping a blog, and you write largely for your own amusement, and as a way to start multi-way conversations with friends. Or when you write just get ideas out of your head, so they can roam free through the world, having their own life, and leave you alone.
You know what’s dumb? When you get busy and forget to write for a while, and then start feeling like you shouldn’t do so unless you’ve got Big Ideas to share. Like you should hold off until you’ve got a completely original 5,000 word post on something really important, because you haven’t earned the right to toss out a two-sentence ‘Hey, isn’t this neat?’ Those of you who among my facebook-mediated friends know perfectly well where I’ve been putting all those thoughts.
So here I am. I’m now starting my second year of my MS, and after a recent conversation with the ever-inspiring author of Metal Organic, I decided it’d be fun to actually talk about science and the teaching thereof in more than two-sentence status updates.
Which means you’ll probably just get a lot of photos of my cat. But hey, thanks for reading anyway.
